Evan Hafford

Vice President - Project Management and Estimating

After more than 20 years of working onboard Merchant Ships, successfully leading teams of engineers and technicians complete an overwhelming scope of work, I have been invited to join a new, exciting, and necessary venture. My experience includes both performing and overseeing the preventative, condition-based, and corrective maintenance on a large variety of 4-Stroke and 2-Stroke engines.  I have been exposed to many difficult situations, and each has presented unique challenges.  Extreme sea conditions, manuals in an unfamiliar language, engine failures resulting in engine room fires, unavailability of parts or specific tools…  examples that represent a short list of situations that I have encountered and addressed.  The result of each event was the timely return of the Power Generation or Propulsion System to full Operational Condition and Regulatory Compliance. The ability to recognize a problem or inefficiency, develop creative and practical solutions, then produce and implement the solution is a strength that I have proven.  It is also the most fun and rewarding aspect of handling tricky technical challenges.  This approach has led to improving the safe and effective performance of the people involved. In my role as Director of Project Management and Estimating my priority will be to ensure each task is approached and performed with the high standards of precision, clarity of communication, and honesty that employees and customers should expect, but have had difficulty finding in recent years. I hold integrity, hard work, and diligent planning as integral to successful team management. There is no task viewed as too large or too complicated once loyalty, trust, and dedicated support have been established among all involved.

Jarred Hartford

Director of Development, Sales, & Customer Relations

With over 16 years of experience as a Maritime Engineering Officer, I started my career in the M.E.B.A., as 3 Assistant Engineer in 2002, and I last actively sailed as Chief Engineer with Seadrill in 2018. Since then and during a brief intermission from the maritime industry I’ve gained valuable experience in different industrial engineering operational roles based in the manufacturing and mining industries. Throughout my career, working under my United States Coast Guard engineering license, I’ve been fortunate enough to both carry out large engine overhauls with tools in hand, as well as plan then manage large engine overhaul projects as Chief Engineer. Working on both sides of these projects has given me a unique perspective on not only what is required for the work to be done but also what is appreciated from a customer's perspective. I’ve been the one populating and writing the service reports as well as the recipient of said service reports, and in doing both, honesty and integrity has always been the intent and the expectation. I’ve had the pleasure of working with many different people from all walks of life and from around the world. One thing I’ve learned to value is the unique perspective and experience each person brings to a team that I'm either on or am leading. I’ve learned to listen to and encourage others to share these perspectives and experiences for the benefit of everyone involved. I’ve come to value building connections and relationships with people everywhere in both my professional and personal life. Which is why I’m honored and excited to bring my unique experience to Strategic PowerGen Solutions, working in the capacity of “Director -Development, Sales, and Client Relationships.”
